DR. ANN LEFEVRE, PHD, LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Bring new perspective and peace into your life.

How can I help you?

I believe every person is unique and deserves to be treated as a whole person. You’re not a diagnosis or a problem to be fixed, but instead a complex being full of strengths and potential. You don’t need to be ‘good enough’ or ‘sick enough’ to reach out, you just need to be exactly who you are right now.

When you decide to seek care, you’re taking a risk by trusting another person to know how to help you. I don’t take that lightly. I’ve been committed to helping people with mental health struggles for the past 20 years. I’ve received extensive training so I can offer the best care possible.

I understand how hard it can be to ask for help. You may feel uncomfortable or vulnerable when that’s the last thing you want. You may be wary of trusting a new person with your very personal information. I know what it’s like to be on the ‘asking side,’ and I’ll do my best to help you quickly and to the best of my ability.

What it’s like to work with me

I’ve been told that I’m easy to talk to, that people feel comfortable with me right away, and that I’m a good listener because I really hear and understand what is being shared.

Creating a safe and comfortable environment is my goal from the moment we meet, and I’ll check in during each session to see how you’re feeling about our time together. Common feedback I receive from clients is that I strike the right balance of being both challenging and supportive.

I want to work with you to set goals and track your progress to make sure you’re learning and feeling better at a pace that’s right for you. Empathy and understanding will underscore our time together, and, I also want you to leave each session with insight and ideas on ‘what to do’ to keep moving forward.

MY GUIDING PRINCIPLES

COMPASSION

I want to truly understand you, your circumstances, and how you’re feeling. I will always treat you with care and kindness and unconditional positive regard.

WHOLENESS

You are a person with a complex and interconnected mind and body. Together we’ll look at the whole of you, not just a diagnosis or problem.

AUTHENTICITY

With me, what you see is what you get. I will challenge you in a very caring way, and I believe that candid communication is the key to successful collaboration.

RESEARCH

The treatments I provide are grounded in decades of research, and drawing from evidence-based treatments is the foundation of my practice.
